Ram Das/ Love Serve Remember Foundation/ podcasts, videos about love

"Ram Dass first went to India in 1967. He was still Dr. Richard Alpert, a prominent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr. Timothy Leary. He continued his psychedelic research until that fateful Eastern trip in 1967, when he traveled to India. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means “servant of God.” Everything changed then – his intense dharmic life started, and he became a pivotal influence on a culture that has reverberated with the words “Be Here Now” ever since. Ram Dass’ spirit has been a guiding light for three generations, carrying along millions on the journey, helping to free them from their bonds as he works through his own.

Since 1968, Ram Dass has pursued a panoramic array of spiritual methods and practices from potent ancient wisdom traditions, including bhakti or devotional yoga focused on the Hindu deity Hanuman; Buddhist meditation in the Theravadin, Mahayana Tibetan and Zen Buddhist schools, and Sufi and Jewish mystical studies. Perhaps most significantly, his practice of karma yoga or spiritual service has opened up millions of other souls to their deep, yet individuated spiritual practice and path. Ram Dass continues to uphold the boddhisatva ideal for others through his compassionate sharing of true knowledge and vision. His unique skill in getting people to cut through and feel divine love without dogma is still a positive influence on many people from all over the planet."

Hallucinogenic Drugs and Plants in Psychotherapy and Shamanism by Ralph Metzner, Ph.D.*

"Abstract— Western psychotherapy and indigenous shamanic healing systems have both used psychoactive drugs or plants for healing and obtaining knowledge (called “diagnosis” or “divination” respectively). While there are superficial similarities between psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and shamanic healing with hallucinogenic plants, there are profound differences in the underlying worldview and conceptions of reality.

Four paradigms are reviewed: (1) psychedelic psychotherapy within the standard Western paradigm— here the drug is used to amplify and intensify the processes of internal self-analysis and self-understanding; (2) shamanic rituals of healing anddivination, which involve primarily the shaman or healer taking the medicine in order to be able to “see” the causes of illness and know what kind of remedy to apply; (3) syncretic folk religious ceremonies, in which the focus seems to be a kind of community bonding and celebratory worship; and (4) the “hybrid shamanic therapeutic rituals,” which incorporate some features of the first two traditions. There are two points in which the worldview of the shamanic and hybrid shamanic ceremonies differs radically from the accepted Western worldview: (1) the belief and assumption (really, perception) that there are multiple realities (“worlds”) that can be explored in expanded states of consciousness; and (2) the belief that “spirits,” the beings one encounters in dreams and visions, are just as real as the physical organism."

Manifesting the Mind: Footprints of the Shaman (2009) [Full Documentary]

Outer travels, inner journery's retreat

"“Everyone on Earth is here to participate in and contribute to the mass awakening of humanity” – Barbara Manciniak, Path of Empowerment

What we call life is a journey of the soul. It is a journey filled with experiences that help it grow and expand to reach its full potential.

Often times though, we are faced with challenges that instead of expanding our souls, leaves us with scars. What starts as a faint one, grows deeper over time turning into a wound. This wound travels with us across time as a baggage. It becomes heavier and heavier, stronger and stronger, and soon we find it dictating our paths and actions. It traps us in this viscous cycle where all you get is misery, doubt and frustration.

Soon, we realize that our soul is not on its intended journey anymore; instead it is stuck. This digression from the path of light manifests itself in form of depression, anxiety and other mental and physical ailments.

Outer Travels, Inner Journeys organizes transformational travel experiences and healing retreats for people who desire to connect more deeply with their true nature as well as meet other like-minded people from around the planet. This journey is meant to reconnect people to their purpose while helping them see light again.

For those with eyes to see it’s obvious that we’re now in the midst of a tumultuous transformation of the planet as an ever increasing number of people are awakening to their true nature. These shifts we’re experiencing are exciting, but at times a little scary, and many are calling out in their hearts and minds for guidance and understanding about what is happening, and what they can do to assist.

In order to keep up with these changes, many people are feeling a powerful impetus to awaken themselves and reach higher states of awareness and sensitivity.

Sacred plant medicines such as San Pedro and Ayahuasca which are native to Peru are powerful tools for healing while also accelerating spiritual and consciousness growth. It is our belief that all blockages, illness and dis-ease are nothing more than manifestations of a mind not knowing itself. These sacred medicines help you to remove the blocks that currently prevent you from that level of knowing. This involves you undergoing a journey into your own psyche, your own spiritual odyssey, at the end of which lies home.

Outer Travel Inner Journeys’ retreats are orientated towards those seeking to heal themselves and accelerate their spiritual growth in order to keep joyously and effortlessly apace of the rising energy waves arriving on the planet right now. Understanding that this global transition is a collective affair, we wish for as many people as possible to raise their consciousness so as to lend extra charge to the awakening of the planet and the evolution of the human species, of which we are all a part.

So join us to embark on your own personal spiritual odyssey. There are many gifts ready to be found, many secrets ready to be unveiled, many paths ready to be explored…each leaving you with a lesson that will teach you to become all that you are capable of, and to create all that you desire.

We will be honored if you join us this year for this life changing spiritual journey."

Where and what is Sachamama Jardin/Don Francisco Montes Shuna

"Don Francisco Montes Shuna is an expert at designing a retreat to suit the needs of each individual aspirant. Retreats can last a few days, a few weeks, a few months and in some cases a few years. Each retreat requires the aspirant to intensely prepare before coming to the jungle....

Much of Iquitos' appeal derives from its being the starting point for excursions into the rainforest, but the town is an interesting place in its own right, if only for the lively local people and magnificent rubber boom architecture. Like Manaus, Iquitos evolved into an almost European city during the rubber boom. Many of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century buildings are decorated with Portuguese tiles (azulejos), some of which are brilliantly extravagant in their Moorish inspiration. The Casa Kahn, on block 1 of Sargento Lores is a particularly fine example. Sachamama Ethnobotanical Garden was founded in 1990 by Francisco Montes Shuna, a well-known Amazonian ethnobotanist and cousin of famed Peruvian visionary artist Pablo Amaringo Shuna. The Garden is located about an hour outside of Iquitos, Peru. It is a nicely-conceived conservatory focusing on the vast array of medicinal plants for which the upper Amazon basin is famous. It is rapidly becoming an important learning center for local and international visitors. The Garden's botanical inventory presently exceeds one thousand species of medicinal and culturally-important plants."

Psychedelic Crisis FAQ @ Erowid

Note: Don't take too much, always take the lowest dose no matter hpw confident you are. Don't be dumb. You can always add, but can not take away. READ THIS ENTIRE ARTICLE BEFORE DOING DRUGS OR ANY KIND. Screw it, read it even if you have done them before. Even if it's just Marijuana. Print it out, put in on your wall.

"Disclaimer:

This FAQ is presented for informational purposes only. We do not advocate illegal activities. We do believe in the right of the individual to have free access to information and ideas. We strongly recommend that the reader learn about applicable local and federal laws regarding possession, sale, and purchase of any psychoactives they intend to use. This FAQ may be redistributed as long as the text remains unchanged and all credits remain attached. If you create copies of this FAQ on the web, please try to keep them updated to the current version.....

                                                           Introduction

There are a lot of different situations in which someone might need help while using psychoactives. Deciding what to do in any particular instance requires calmness, clear thinking and the ability to make decisions. This FAQ is intended to provide ideas of what one can do. Which particular method(s) should be used is unique to each situation. Remember, while not easily done in the most severe situations, the single most important thing an aide can do is to STAY CALM and as clear-headed as possible.

                                                         Assessment
Helping someone through a crisis situation should be broken down into two stages: assessing and acting. The first step is to assess the situation and try to determine what type of action needs to be taken.

                                                          Type of Situation
  •     Is there immediate or potential physical danger? [Critical] Is the person conscious? Is breath rate depressed or accelerated? Heart rate? Is there any skin discoloration? If unconscious, is there an appropriate pain response?
  •     Is the person a danger to themselves or others? [Critical] Are they violent and acting threateningly towards others? What are the chances that they will attack someone? Hurt themselves unintentionaly? Get in a car and drive? Attempt suicide?
  •     Are they having a spiritual, mental, or emotional crisis? [Crisis] Do they seem overly scared, depressed, or angry? Mood swings? Acting crazily? Awake but non-responsive?

                                                     Helpful Information
The following information can be helpful in determining what action should be taken. Try not to leave the person alone while collecting the information. In cases of spiritual / emotional crisis, it is often better to ask friends or nearby people rather than trying to get the information out of the individual experiencing the crisis.
  •     What substance did they take? If possible, learn what substance(s) they took and in what form (oral, smoked, injected). How much did they take? When did they take it? Are they on any other medications or supplements?
  •     Who are they? Do they have friends nearby? Where do they live? Do they have a history of this type or similar problems?

Find out all you can. Without a good assessment of what's happening, critical errors in handling it (pumping someone full of benzos unnecessarily, failing to call 911 in time, etc.) are more likely to occur. With as much of that information as possible in hand, decide the severity of the crisis and act accordingly:
  •     Critical - Potential or immediate physical danger to self or others, possibly requiring medical attention.
  •     Crisis - Benign to extreme psychotic behavior, negative thought loops, panic attacks.

Situations that Require Professional Help

  •     If you feel that lives are in danger.
  •     If you feel that the situation is out of control and there is nobody else willing to take responsibility for the individual.

Ayurveda wisdom of life - A comprehensive Ayurveda portal

"Ayurveda, the oldest system of medicine in the world, had its origin thousands of years ago in India. Created and propounded by the wise and learned of bygone days, Ayurveda possesses the power to rejuvenate the body, mind, senses and the soul by exploring the remedial secrets of nature....
Ayurveda, considered to be the oldest system of medicine in the world, had its origin in India about five thousand years ago. A holistic method of healing using remedies offered by nature, Ayurveda which when followed can restore, rejuvenate and revitalize body, mind and soul.

Mention of Ayurveda can be found in the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavat Gita and other ancient texts of wisdom. Of the four Vedas, namely Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda and Adharva Veda, Ayurveda is said to be the Upaveda or the sub branch of Adharva Veda.

The word Ayurveda is made up of two Sanskrit words: 'Ayu' which means ‘life’ and 'Veda' which means ‘the knowledge of’. According to Charaka, "ayu" consists of four essential parts- mind, body, senses and the soul. In short, Ayurveda is the knowledge of life.

Tridosha's Doshas in Ayurvedic Medicine

"Ayurveda, ancient medical/holistic system from the vedic civilization of India, teaches that health is maintained by the balancing of three subtle energies known as Doshas - individually they are Vatha, Pitta and Kapha.

This system teaches maintenance and protection of the whole person (mind, body and soul). Ayurvedic medicine is based on an individual's characteristics and body frame rather than oriented toward treating disease or sickness.

Each of us are made up of a combination of the three types of doshas. The three doshas are comprised of these five universal elements:
  •     space
  •     air
  •     earth
  •     fire
  •     water

Vatha is a combination of air and space.

Pitta is mostly fire with some water.

Kapha is mostly water with some earth.

Overall well-being and striving for longevity depends on keeping your doshas balanced. Any imbalance among the tridoshas causes a state of unhealthiness or disease. Factors that can bring about balance of the tridoshas are diet, exercise, good digestion, and elimination of toxins. You can follow the three links below to evaluate the characteristics of each dosha to consider if you are predominately one dosha or would be classified as a combo-energy such as vatha-pitta or vatha-kapha, or pitta-kapha, and so on. Acacia plant

"Acacia (/əˈkeɪʃə/ or /əˈkeɪsiə/), known commonly as acacia, thorntree, whistling thorn, or wattle, is a genus of shrubs and trees belonging to the subfamily Mimosoideae of the family Fabaceae, described by the Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus in 1773 based on the African species Acacia nilotica. Many non-Australian species tend to be thorny, whereas the majority of Australian acacias are not. All species are pod-bearing, with sap and leaves often bearing large amounts of tannins and condensed tannins that historically found use as pharmaceuticals and preservatives.
Acacia greggii thorns.jpg
The generic name derives from ἀκακία (akakia), the name given by early Greek botanist-physician Pedanius Dioscorides (middle to late first century) to the medicinal tree A. nilotica in his book Materia Medica.[2] This name derives from the Greek word for its characteristic thorns, ἀκίς (akis; "thorn").[3] The species name nilotica was given by Linnaeus from this tree's best-known range along the Nile river.

The genus Acacia previously contained roughly 1,300 species, about 960 of them native to Australia, with the remainder spread around the tropical to warm-temperate regions of both hemispheres, including Europe, Africa, southern Asia, and the Americas (see List of Acacia species). However, in 2005, the genus was divided into five separate genera under the tribe "Acacieae". The genus Acacia (sensu stricto) was retained for the majority of the Australian species and a few in tropical Asia, Madagascar, and Pacific Islands. Most of the species outside Australia, and a small number of Australian species, were reclassified into Vachellia and Senegalia. The two final genera, Acaciella and Mariosousa, each contains about a dozen species from the Americas (but see "Classification" below for ongoing debate concerning these name changes).

What is TheVineCenter and Spirit Vine?

"Established in 2004, TheVine Center is “The Ayahuasca House”, created to host spiritual retreats where people from all over the world can come and meet others interested in reconnecting with the higher self and spiritual development, working with a variety of meditations, regressions, art, yoga, talks about ayahuasca and ceremonies.
6-9
6-9The centre is located in the richly diverse Mata-Atlantic forest on the east coast of Brazil in the state of Bahia. This region was chosen due to the natural beauty of the landscape, astonishing beaches, good accessibility, spirited local culture and the abundance of natural foods. An ideal setting for a safe and profound experience.

TheVine Center is established as a trans-denominational space that is open to people of the world regardless of faith, who are seeking to reconnect with source/universal intelligence. The founders of TheVine Center have developed programs that do not teach doctrine, yet support participants in self-realization of their own unique spiritual journey reconnecting with their own power or “god within”, a common goal of many ancient traditions and religions. The root word of religion is usually traced back to the latin word religare meaning “to bind back” (“re” = back and “ligare” = to bind)

Theresa M. Fernandes :Divinely Charmed

"I have researched, read, experienced and incorporated many different philosophies and practices into my repertoire. I really don’t care for labels, nor like to specifically call myself anything, as I’m an eclectic mix of so many beautiful teachings and experiences.
As such, I experience things through Clair-sentience (feeling/touching) and Clair-cognizance (knowing). I do hear from those who have passed, often conveying very specific messages for their family and friends.

So,  call me Psychic, Medium, Intuitive, Administrator, Entrepreneur, Mother, Wife, Sister, Friend, it doesn’t matter…For I am one in these, and all these in one!
I, however, am just me; otherwise known and entitled “The Charmed One”, the name which was given to me by those who have been placed on my path that I have learned from. Over the past several years, The Charmed One stuck, particularly because it resonated with a tool I created which I like to call  “my charms”. As I began to use and understand my gifts , emerged my life’s work: Divinely Charmed.™

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev

"Sadhguru is a man whose passion spills into everything he encounters. A fearless rebel from the start, his childhood was punctuated with solitary forays into the jungle for days at a stretch, snake-catching and class cutting. In youth, his blunt clarity into life made him an unofficial counselor to his problem-ridden college mates.
Sadhguru-Jaggi-Vasudev.jpg

His love of adventure led him on motorcycle expeditions, and his early business endeavors into poultry farming and construction were met with success. Just when you’ve summed him up as a cool maverick, he surprises you with a gentle side that can shed tears of compassion and extract laughter from hardened faces.

Equally at home with bright-eyed village children, ash-smeared yogis and top-notch executives, Sadhguru defies any narrow description. With a keen mind, balanced by a heart that knows no boundary, he infects his zest for life into all who seek to live their lives to the fullest."

Ayahuasca

"Ayahuasca (usually pronounced /aɪjəˈwæskə/ or /ˈaɪjəˈwɑːskə/), also commonly called yagé (/jɑːheɪ/), is a hallucinogenic brew of various plant infusions prepared with the Banisteriopsis caapi vine. It is either mixed with the leaves of dimethyltryptamine (DMT)-containing species of shrubs from the genus Psychotria or with the leaves of the Justicia pectoralis plant which does not contain DMT. The brew, first described academically in the early 1950s by Harvard ethnobotanist Richard Evans Schultes, who found it employed for divinatory and healing purposes by the native peoples of Amazonian Peru, is known by a number of different names (see below).

It has been reported that some effects can be felt from consuming the caapi vine alone, but that DMT-containing plants (such as Psychotria) remain inactive when drunk as a brew without a source of monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as B. caapi. How indigenous peoples discovered the synergistic properties of the plants used in the ayahuasca brew remains unclear. Many indigenous Amazonian people say they received the instructions directly from plants and plant spirits." (Wikipedia)

"Ayahuasca is a powerfully psychedelic South American brew traditionally made from the B. caapi vine and admixtures such as P. viridis (and/or other DMT-containing plants). One of its primary effects is considered to be the vomiting (the purge) that accompanies the experience. The term ayahuasca is sometimes loosely used to mean any combination of an MAOI with DMT."

Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp

"Established as a Spiritualist community in 1894, the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association™ consists of approximately 57 acres with 55 residences. Those who reside here have chosen to share in a community of like-minded people where they can live, worship and work in harmony with their beliefs. About 25 of the Camp’s residents are mediums who offer counseling from their homes.Welcome to Cassadaga

Although residents may own their homes within the Camp grounds, the church retains ownership of the land. And, though the word "Camp" appears in it's name, there are actually no camping facilities available. "Camp meeting" is an antiquated term for annual gatherings of religious groups.

Designated a Historic District on the National Register Of Historic Places in 1991, the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association is the oldest active religious community in the Southeastern United States.

In recent years, Spiritualism has seen a resurgence of interest. The "New Age Movement" has attracted many who are searching for a better way of life, those who wish to empower themselves and take responsibility for their lives.

Spiritualism holds something for everyone, no matter what their religion or where they are on their spiritual path. The Camp welcomes not only believers, but the curious and skeptical, as well."

Edgar Cayce

Later in life, Cayce would find that he had the ability to put himself into a sleep-like state by lying down on a couch, closing his eyes, and folding his hands over his stomach. In this state of relaxation and meditation, he was able to place his mind in contact with all time and space — the universal consciousness, also known as the super-conscious mind. From there, he could respond to questions as broad as, "What are the secrets of the universe?" and "What is my purpose in life?" to as specific as, "What can I do to help my arthritis?" and "How were the pyramids of Egypt built? His responses to these questions came to be called "readings," and their insights offer practical help and advice to individuals even today.

Many people are surprised to learn that Edgar Cayce was a devoted churchgoer and Sunday school teacher. At a young age, Cayce vowed to read the Bible for every year of his life, and at the time of his death in 1945, he had accomplished this task. Perhaps the readings said it best, when asked how to become psychic, Cayce’s advice was to become more spiritual.

The majority of Edgar Cayce's readings deal with holistic health and the treatment of illness. As it was at the time Cayce was giving readings, still today, individuals from all walks of life and belief receive physical relief from illnesses or ailments through information given in the readings — some readings were given as far back as 100 years ago! Yet, although best known for this material, the sleeping Cayce did not seem to be limited to concerns about the physical body. In fact, in their entirety, the readings discuss an astonishing 10,000 different topics. This vast array of subject matter can be narrowed down into a smaller group of topics that, when compiled together, deal with the following five categories:

(1) Health-Related Information;
(2) Philosophy and Reincarnation;
(3) Dreams and Dream Interpretation; (4) ESP and Psychic Phenomena; and
(5) Spiritual Growth, Meditation, and Prayer."
