The story of Orpheus and Eurydice @ VCU
"Eurydice and Orpheus were young and in love. So deep was their love that they were practically inseparable. So dependent was their love that each felt they could not live without the other. These young lovers were very happy and spent their time frolicking through the meadows. One day Eurdice was gaily running through a meadow with Orpheus when she was bitten by a serpent. The poison of the sting killed her and she descended to Hades immediately.
Orpheus was son of the great Olympian god Apollo. In many ways Apollo was the god of music and Orpheus was blessed with musical talents. Orpheus was so sad about the loss of his love that he composed music to express the terrible emptiness which pervaded his every breath and movement. He was so desperate and found so little else meaningful, that he decided address Hades.
As the overseer of the underworld, Hades heart had to be hard as steel, and so it was. Many approached Hades to beg for loved ones back and as many times were refused. But Orpheus' music was so sweet and so moving that it softened the steel hearted heart of Hades himself. Hades gave permission to Orpheus to bring Eurydice back to the surface of the earth to enjoy the light of day. There was only one condition--Orpheus was not to look back as he ascended. He was to trust that Eurydice was immediately behind him. It was a long way back up and just as Orpheus had almost finished that last part of the trek, he looked behind him to make sure Eurydice was still with him. At that very moment, she was snatched back because he did not trust that she was there. When you hear music which mourns lost love, it is Orpheus' spirit who guides the hand of the musicians who play it."

Who is Metatron?
"One part of the answer to this question is that He is our older brother, our role model leading us toward what we may become - because legend tells us that Metatron once led a physical life as Enoch the Scribe, who led a faultless life on earth and ascended straight to heaven to continue his job at God's right hand: so he is one of the few angels who are said to have experienced human life, and have since risen to heights of love and power and wisdom that are probably beyond our wildest imaginings in our present state of consciousness.

But we are growing, we're evolving; and here is the whole point! Metatron is described as the Archangel who is bright enough to look God straight in the eye: one day, then, we too shall be able to sit among the highest frequencies without full spontaneous combustion. Other legends say that Metatron was the angel who led the Israelites out of Egypt and into safety; once we tune into his energies, the guidance we receive is awesome.
Metatron has been described as huge enough to bridge heaven and earth. He is often described as the Angel of God's Presence - and indeed one of his great gifts is to help us in mastering time, which comes down to helping us to be present. Really.
Metatron is beyond angelic, beyond even archangelic; and the prefix 'meta' expands a concept: in metaphysical we transcend the physical, in metamorphosis we move beyond the limits of one form - caterpillar to butterfly-fashion. 'Tron' means instrument, or device. As Metatron has also been seen and felt by many to be, in the words of J.J. Hurtak ("The Keys of Enoch") the 'creator of light in the outer universe', so this Being can be seen as providing divine tools of light, which enable us to surpass ourselves.
If he is Ruler of that map of consciousness itself, the Tree of Life, then He guides us on our return journey to wholeness, or Paradise. The spheres in the Tree of Life represent different worlds, or parallel realities: as we bring about profound change in our awareness and understanding, as we let go of old and worn-out 'stories' or versions of the truth, the potential is there for us to step into a different reality: one of abundance and love, in which our joy and creativity can be expressed. As we receive more and more of the light that Metatron is offering us, we allow in more and more of the deepest good in the cosmos.
Some people think comfortably in terms of Angelic or Divine energies; they perceive that there are Beings, or spiritual energies, or messengers from some of the vast numbers of other dimensions that exist in the Universe, and that these Beings are available to us in a palpable way. This is our experience in working with the energies of Metatron: a real, tangible and very loving presence is felt within the room and dramatically in the process of the Transmissions and when giving client sessions. Other people prefer to think in terms of Science; they may be more comfortable with the concept of vibrations within a unified field of consciousness. Both are true. In the end, our concepts are just ways of attempting to make sense of ideas and phenomena in a polarized world; but our destiny is to move beyond separation.
And in this, the Archangels are our greatest teachers and allies."

Twilight Saga
"Twilight is a series of four vampire-themed fantasy romance novels by American author Stephenie Meyer. It charts a period in the life of Isabella "Bella" Swan, a teenage girl who moves to Forks, Washington, and falls in love with a 104-year-old vampire named Edward Cullen. The series is told primarily from Bella's point of view, with the epilogue of Eclipse and Part II of Breaking Dawn being told from the viewpoint of character Jacob Black, a werewolf. The unpublished Midnight Sun is a retelling of the first book, Twilight, from Edward Cullen's point of view. The novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, which tells the story of a newborn vampire who appeared in Eclipse, was published on June 5, 2010 as a hardcover book and on June 7 as a free online ebook.

The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, a definitive encyclopedic reference with nearly 100 full colour illustrations, was released in bookstores on April 12, 2011.
Since the release of the first novel, Twilight, in 2005, the books have gained immense popularity and commercial success around the world. The series is most popular among young adults; the four books have won multiple awards, most notably the 2008 British Book Award for "Children's Book of the Year" for Breaking Dawn, while the series as a whole won the 2009 Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Book.
As of April 2012, the series has sold over 120 million copies worldwide with translations into at least 38 different languages around the globe. The four Twilight books have consecutively set records as the biggest selling novels of 2008 on the USA Today Best-Selling Books list and have spent over 235 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list for Children's Series Books.
The books have been made into The Twilight Saga series of motion pictures by Summit Entertainment. The film adaptations of the first three books were released in 2008, 2009, and 2010 respectively. The fourth book is adapted into two full-length films — the first film being released in November 2011, and the second film in November 2012."

Aphrodite, Eros, Anteros, Himeros, Pothos - God/goddesses of love
"Before the advent of Christianity, Greek culture had multiple deities established to represent all aspects associated with living on this earth. Their polytheistic outlook called for a series of gods to preside over everything that made up nature, afterlife and the human condition; life, death, war, even emotions were all ruled/explained by the actions and presence of a Greek god or goddess.
Emotion is the key word here. Human feelings are certainly tricky things and can even lead to disastrous results if not understood properly. Probably the one emotion that plagues humans the most is love.
Being such an integral part of the human condition, the subject of love is nothing short of complex. It's a force that invokes the deepest and darkest desires of any person; it can bring out the best in us along with our very worst.
The Greeks apparently thought so too, which is why they put so much time and effort into properly worshiping love in all it's forms...."

Eros - God of Love
Anteros - God of Requited Love
Himeros - God of Desire and Unrequited Love
Pothos - God of Yearning and Wanting"

Himeros - God of Desire
"HIMEROS (or Himerus) was the god of sexual desire, one of the young Erotes (winged Love-Gods). When the goddess Aphrodite first emerged new-born from the sea-foam's she was greeted by the twin loves Eros and Himeros. Some say Aphrodite was born pregnant with the twins, and birthed them with her birth. The pair were her constant companions, agents of her divine power.
Himeros was usually depicted as winged youth or child, as were the other Erotes. He was frequently depicted alongside Eros in the scene of Aphrodite's birth, fluttering around the goddess sailing across the sea in her conch-shell. At others times he appears as one of a triad of love gods, his brothers being Eros and Pothos (Love and Passion). As an individual god, however, Himeros possessed no distinct mythology or cult of his own. When paired with Eros he was probably identified with Anteros (reciprocal love). "

"Himeros is the god of sexual desire. Like his brother Eros, he is often seen wielding a bow and arrow. However, unlike the main son, he uses these weapons to induce his targets with strong lustful urges. Not much else is known about him. Being a part of the Erotes, his character isn't prominently featured in adventures."

Aphrodite (Greek goddess of love)
"APHRODITE was the great Olympian goddess of pleasure, joy, beauty, love and procreation.....
Aphrodite's attributes in classical art include Eros (the winged godling of love), a mirror, apple, and myrtle wreath or sprigs, and in the story of her birth the cockle shell.
Her most important sacred plants and animals were the rose, myrtle, and apple, dove, sparrow and fish."

"Aphrodite (known as Venus in Roman mythology) is the main goddess associated with love, beauty, and sex. Born from the castrated genitals of Uranus after they were tossed into the sea- although some accounts describe her as the daughter of Zeus- Aphrodite is one of the more prominent gods.
She is seen as a symbol of fertility and sexuality; Aphrodite is often regarded as the most beautiful goddess in all of Mount Olympus. Fearing that her good looks would cause inner conflict amongst the gods, Zeus married her off to the lame Hephaestus.
While her beauty was legendary, even a goddess like Aphrodite couldn't avoid the downfalls that came with being attractive; depicted as vain, badly tempered, and quick to offend. She was also far from excited about being married to the ugly smithing god and so, cheated on him often.
Her life of adultery led to a number of consorts, with a list comprised of both immortal and mortal lovers: Adonis, Anchises, Hermes, and Ares just to name a few. Needless to say, her extensive amount of intercourse also led to Aphrodite bearing many children...."

Sylph
"Sylph (also called sylphid) is a mythological creature in the Western tradition. The term originates in Paracelsus, who describes sylphs as invisible beings of the air, his elementals of air. There is no known substantial mythos associated with them...
Because of their association with the ballet La Sylphide, where sylphs are identified with fairies and the medieval legends of fairyland, as well as a confusion with other "airy spirits" (e.g., in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream), a slender girl may be referred to as a sylph.
Sylph has passed into general language as a term for minor spirits, elementals, or faeries of the air. Fantasy authors will sometimes employ sylphs in their fiction. Sylphs could create giant artistic clouds in the skies with their airy wings"
