What is balsam oil ?Rich balsamic, deep vanilla-sweet aroma, with soft cinnamon-like and slight smoky undertones.

"This essential oil is actually derived from a resinous substance called Balsam of Peru, which comes from a tree in Central and South America that is scientifically known as Myroxylon balsamum. This is probably not the most widely known or used essential oil, as it is not globally exported on a level equivalent to more popular essential oils. However, it is very potent and has an impressive range of health benefits, as well as its limited role as a food flavoring agent in certain dishes. The smell of Balsam of Peru essential oil is something like vanilla and cinnamon, and perhaps a touch of clove. The oil is a dark brown and has a very enjoyable smell. As with most essential oil, Balsam of Peru essential oil can be either diffused or topically applied, but the very enjoyable scent of this essential oil makes it a favorite for diffusion in aromatherapy mixtures. It blends well with many other types of oils."

Beauty products you can stop wasting money on

" It's hard to go through the beauty aisle of a department store without finding yourself at the checkout counter with $200 worth of beauty potions and serums that are apparently going to make you look younger/smoother/firmer. I mean, if it's on the market, then that must mean you need it to look fabulous, right?

Yeah, not so much. That's just what the cosmetics industry wants you to think. If you're looking to streamline your beauty routine and stop wasting prime medicine cabinet real estate on products that are totally unnecessary, here are nine you can skip out on (while saving some major coinage).
1.Toner

3. Anything with the word "cellulite" on it

Shave Like Your Great Grandpa: The Ultimate Straight Razor Shaving Guide

"Benefits of Straight Razor Shaving

Better shaves. I thought my shaves couldn’t get any better after I upgraded from my Mach5 to an old school safety razor. I was wrong. The first time I shaved with a straight razor, my face looked as smooth as a baby’s behind. My wife noticed the difference without me even telling her what I had done and declared that it was the smoothest she’d ever seen. So make the switch to a straight razor. Your face will thank you for it....

Reduced costs. The upfront costs to get started with straight razor shaving are a bit on the expensive side. But after you buy all the gear, you’re set for life. You’ll never have to buy razor cartridges or double edge blades ever again. Just give your straight razor a nice stropping and you’re good to go. The only cost you’ll have from here on out is an occasional tube of shaving cream.

Environmentally friendly. Today’s modern shaving racket creates needless waste. When you’re done with a cartridge, you have to throw it out. When you buy new cartridges, you’re left with a ton of packaging material. Shaving with a safety razor reduces this waste, but straight razors take it one step further. The only waste you’ll create is biodegradable shaving scum. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, greenies.

Meditative. Straight razor shaving has meditative benefits. It’s a craft that requires you to slow down and really focus on what you’re doing. After a few times of shaving with a straight razor, you just might start to notice yourself entering an incredibly manly zen-like state.

You’ll feel like more of a bad ass. You’ll be shaving with a tool that can double as a lethal weapon. Putting razor-sharp steel next to your throat every morning reminds you that you’re alive.
The Tools

The Razor. Your most important tool is your razor. Don’t get skimpy with your razor and buy the cheapest one. You don’t want the cheapest; you want the best. Poor razors end up being more trouble than they’re worth. They will irritate your skin and cause nicks and cuts that will annoy you as long as you use it. A good quality razor, on the other hand, is a joy to use. If well maintained, a good razor will last for years. Your great-grandsons might even use it....

When shopping for razors, consider the following factors:

Whip those brows into shape!

" 1. Determine where your inner brow should end. Hold a straight edge, such as an eyebrow pencil or a ruler, vertically in front of your face.
Line it up so that it touches the outermost of edge your nose and the inside of your eye. This line will determine where your eyebrow should start.
Mark that spot with an eyebrow pencil. Repeat for the other eye.

2. Determine where your outer brow should end. Angle the straight edge further so that it touches the outermost edge of your nose and also passes along the outermost edge of your eye. This tells you where the eyebrow should end.
Mark this point with your eyebrow pencil.
Repeat with the other eye.

3. Determine where your arch should peak. Angle the straight edge so that it lines up with the outermost edge of your nose and the outermost edge of your iris.
It's very important that you look straight ahead — both your face and your eyes should be looking directly forward at the mirror.
Wherever the line intersects your eyebrow is where the peak of your arch should begin at the top border of the eyebrow.
Mark that spot with your eyebrow pencil.
Repeat for the other eye.

4. Pluck the strays that fall below the line and outside the marks you've made.
Consider your face shape.
Certain brows better compliment specific face shapes.

To minimize the curve of a round face, direct the outer third of the brow towards the top of the ear.
If the face is square, direct it toward the middle of the ear. This helps balance the face.
If the face is long, keep the brow more straight across, directing it above the ear.
An oval face already looks balanced, but to enhance this harmony, you can direct the outer third towards the ear lobe.....

No-poo/low-poo routines for various hair types

"To make life a little easier and to help more than 1 person at a time, i’ve come up with these cookie-cutter starter routines for those wanting a little more guidance. as i always say, it’s very different for everyone, AND it’s going to be very different a year down the road compared to when you started.

for example, here was my routine when i started:

day 1- wash hair with 1:9 ratio of organic liquid castile soap and water. then rinse with diluted acv. after washing, i wait till it’s a bit damp and run about a pump or argan oil through the ends of my hair, and what’s left over on my hands, i wipe on my hair (like grab it into a ponytail with my hands, and just wipe down…if that makes sense lol). let air dry.
days 2, 3, 4: use tiny bits of coconut oil or argan oil to tame fly aways and moisturize the ends of my hair. no washings!
day 5 or 6: do the coconut oil mask and let it sit alllll day (two hours is my minimum). wash hair with the diluted liquid castile soap a few times (to get all the coconut oil out).
days (6,) 7, 8, 9: argan oil & coconut oil for moisture & fly aways, but no washings!
day (9) 10: wash hair with the diluted soap, rinse with diluted acv and use the argan oil once my hair is damp again & let air dry.
days (10,) 11, 12, 13: use argan oil or coconut oil for fly aways and a little extra moisture. no washings!
day (13) 14: wash with the diluted soap and rinse with acv

aaaand here’s my routine now::

day 1 : wash with water only. air dry.
days 2-8 (no set days anymore): nothing… not even getting it wet.
starter routines for various hair types to help with starting no-'poo or low-'poo
so when i say it’s different for everyone, it REALLY is. it’s even different for a single person as time goes on. heck, i don’t even have the same routine that i started with almost 2 years ago or even had 6 months ago.

so here’s what i can advise as a routine, depending on your hair type:"

Advantages: Easy and fast to use.  the larger tip area allows for
general tweezing while the tip can be used for more precise work.
- The idea behind the slant tip is that it will allow you to use the tweezer with
ease, without getting in your way.  Since sight is very important in Tweezing -
these types of tweezers allow the user to have a good view of the work space.
