Who is Steve Roden?
Steve Roden is an American sound and visual artist, who pioneered the lowercase style of music; where quiet, usually unheard, sounds are amplified to form complex and rich soundscapes. His discography includes Forms of Paper, which was commissioned by the Los Angeles public library.
In 2013 Steve Roden's work was featured in a two-person exhibition with Jenny Perlin at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland, OH and in a solo exhibition at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), Los Angeles, CA. In 2010, a mid-career survey of Roden's work was presented at the Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena, CA, curated by Howard Fox. Solo exhibitions include the Creative Media Center, City University of Hong Kong; the Pomona College Museum of Art, Claremont, CA; the Chinati Foundation, Marfa; the Henry Art Museum, Seattle; the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST), Athens; the San Francisco Art Institute; the Fresno Metropolitan Museum of Art and Science; the Alyce de Roulet Williamson Gallery at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena; the Tang Museum at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs; and the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, Santa Barbara, among others.

Who is Banksy?
"Banksy is an English-based graffiti artist, political activist and film director whose real identity is unknown. His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humour with graffiti executed in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.[1] Banksy's work grew out of the Bristol underground scene, which involved collaborations between artists and musicians.[2] Observers have noted that his style is similar to Blek le Rat, who began to work with stencils in 1981 in Paris.[3][4] Banksy says that he was inspired by "3D", a graffiti artist who later became a founding member of Massive Attack, an English musical group."

Who is Ralph Steadman?
"Ralph Steadman (born 15 May 1936) is a British cartoonist best known for his work with American author Hunter S. Thompson....
Steadman is renowned for his political and social caricatures, cartoons and picture books. Awards that he has won for his work include the Francis Williams Book Illustration Award for Alice in Wonderland, the American Society of Illustrators' Certificate of Merit, the W H Smith Illustration Award for I Leonardo, the Dutch Silver Paintbrush Award for Inspector Mouse, the Italian Critica in Erba Prize for That's My Dad, the BBC Design Award for postage stamps, the Black Humour Award in France, and several Designers and Art Directors Association Awards. He was voted Illustrator of the Year by the American Institute of Graphic Arts in 1979.
Steadman had a long partnership with the American journalist Hunter S. Thompson, drawing pictures for several of his articles and books.He accompanied Thompson to the Kentucky Derby for an article for the magazine Scanlan's, to the Honolulu Marathon for the magazine Running, and illustrated both Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72. Much of Steadman's artwork revolves around Raoul Duke-style caricatures of Thompson: bucket hats, cigarette holder and aviator sunglasses.
Steadman appears on the second disc of The Criterion Collection Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas DVD set, in a documentary called Fear and Loathing in Gonzovision, which was made by the BBC in 1978, of Thompson planning the tower and cannon that his ashes were later blasted out of. The cannon was atop a 153-ft. tower of Thompson's fist gripping a peyote button; Thompson demands that Steadman gives the fist two thumbs, "Right now."
As well as writing and illustrating his own books and Thompson's, Steadman has worked with writers including Ted Hughes, Adrian Mitchell and Brian Patten, and also illustrated editions of Alice in Wonderland, Treasure Island, Animal Farm, the English translation of Flann O'Brien's Gaelic-language classic The Poor Mouth, and most recently Fahrenheit 451."

“The Secret In-Between
For me, art is a sort of alchemical process where I turn personal symbols into a single page narrative. The characters and figures I create evolve on my page or canvas and develop personalities and mythology as I work on them. I often feel like my head is full of stories; when I create art it’s like creating a window for these creatures in my head to peer out at the viewer. With an endless affection for fables and fairy tales,
I love to re-imagine the characters and stories that are familiar to us from childhood. In mythology and folklore, symbols and sympathetic magic are everywhere, the mundane can be magical, and magic can be commonplace. I try to bring that feeling into my paintings, where a chipped teacup can stand in for a person long absent, and a fox may be the familiar of a goddess. In a way I am trying to re-introduce magic into the world, to lend my imagination to the eerie feeling of being watched in the woods when you are all alone. In another way I am offering a reminder- that magic is all around us, in the secret spaces in-between the little things we value and the people that we love."

Manda Brezicky is a mother, artist, and activist from Liverpool, New York. Coming from a long lineage of creative, strong, feminist women, her fate was sealed from the first time she picked up a crayon. A mixed-media artist working predominately in printmaking, Brezicky's love for social activism is rivaled only by her love for teaching. She holds both an A.A. and A.A.S. from Onondaga Community College, and a B.F.A. from Cazenovia College. She lives in Liverpool with her son, daughter, and partner.
