What is Sub-Drop? @ Tied up and Ready

"Sub-Drop. It’s a thorny subject that’s for sure and it means different things to different people.
It’s a term for what is more accurately known as an “endorphin crash”. If you’ve had, for example, what’s known as an “impact play” seesion – spanking, caning, beating, flogging, caning, paddling etc, then you will get an endorphin high.
What are endorphins exactly?
Endorphins (“endogenous morphine”) are endogenous opioid peptides that function as

neurotransmitters. They are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in vertebrates during exercise, excitement, pain, consumption of spicy food, love and orgasmand they resemble the opiates in their abilities to produce analgesia and a feeling of well-being.
Once the impact play (or really anything that gets the endorphins going) has finished, your body tends to react in certain ways. Mine for example, doesn’t stop getting endorphins for a good few hours as once the muscles start aching, I get more endorphins. Once they disappear, I just end up feeling a bit down. However, I’m not actually down. It’s just that I was in such a heightened state of euphoria, that once that ended, normality feels depressing. That’s what you’re experiencing when you think you’re entering “sub-drop”. The emergence of normality. Now, comparing the orgasmic, full body rush to your normal state of mind, of course you’re going to think that what you’re experiencing is worse than it is."
