"Mission Statement
Where we are sharing God's love compassionately and inclusively through radical hospitality....
"Yes – this is exactly what we strive to become … every day. Sometimes we miss the mark – BUT many times we are successful. Will you find a perfect church? No way! We are just imperfect souls who are trying to make this world a better place. We are a group of soulful individuals who try to accept everyone – wherever they are on their journey through life – whatever their spiritual history might be – and whatever they might believe. We try to be a home for all persons – of all backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles, and interests. You probably won’t find a group of people that try harder to make “community” happen. Yes – we know there are many Christian organizations that are judgmental and unaccepting. HOWEVER, we are a church that welcomes ALL. (And here – ALL, means ALL!) We will accept you exactly as you are! Our goal will never be to judge you … but to embrace you – and love you – and encourage you in your individual walk of faith.
Because we feel that everyone is a child of God – and is loved unconditionally by God, we know we too, are called to love ALL people – and to care for ALL of creation. Jesus was definitely a man for ALL people. So, we also are called to love everyone unconditionally. Yes, we feel called to go where few want to go … to do what few want to do … for people that few want to love.
We work hard to provide an opportunity each week for every person to experience passionate worship. We have on-going opportunities throughout the year for faith development – for means of touching lives through mission trips and activities of community outreach – both within our community, state and even around the world through work teams.
A spiritual leader of his day, John Wesley said, “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as ever long as you can.” We invite you to come … take a look and see if the Rose City Park Church is the sort of place that you might find a spiritual home to celebrate God – a place to be nurtured in spirit – and a family where you will find ways to serve with others in God’s love … a love that invigorates and satisfies.
I pray God’s richest grace and peace are yours,
Pastor James Simmons"
